Sounds awesome 🙂 mix down doesn’t sound too far off? Sounds like a bit more ‘technical eq’ and gentle shoe-horning of frequencies would help.
See what you mean about the pad. It doesn’t sound out of place, but it sounds like it could be more dynamic- ..automated gain? automated filter? distortion? something to make it pump and jump out a bit more..
High end seems a little flat… think the hats could do with high passing and gentle boost to 8k+ ..
I spend too much time fiddling with EQ and mixing so I think I’ve got quite a good feel for it… I ain’t no pro tho
Any recording can be a great recording, just depends what you want in the end result 🙂 I say this because I used a shitty cheap mp3 player to record a few sounds for a choon I was making, and the grittiness on the recording adds a certain something that would probably not be found on a perfectly clean recording made using the best gear…. Though tbh the quality was surprisingly good in the first place!

I used to really like Rusko, his sound was quite fun compared to all the serious stuff….. I met Rusko at Glasto a couple of years ago, providing the infamous nipple shot :biggreen: :biggreen:
I saw him again the following year, and he wasn’t too pleased about the whole nipple thing, lulz. That did amuse me!!! :biggreen:
My sister found some mdma at a black box night…. I went to the green door store once, looks like a really cool venue but they were playing David Bowie and stuff like that – which I found very confusing….
I love fucking huge rigs – is why I have some earplugs 🙂 Actually I’m a bit of a snob when it comes to rigs – I couldn’t really enjoy Mad Professor at Concorde2 because there just wasn’t enough sub bass ….
aren’t most club nights in Brighton a bit on the commercial side?
DnB used to be ok… Never really been my thing, but it’s gone the way of dubstep, innit? All big and nasty distorted synths, no soul/ funk/ grit, just a competition for the ‘illest’ nasty lead/ bass sound? “melt my face off with ur nasty bassline” type affair?

I moved to Salford for a degree in acoustics a year ago or so, and now I’m doing a year out in the industry at a consultancy in Brighton.

I worked all day at pride so was looking forward to letting my hair down… and it took me over half an hour to walk down there to discover droves of coppers.. lllaaaammmeee….
Not yet – should have gone the other weekend, but ended up in audio. Cagedbaby was playing and it was a bit naff…
It’s just a case of finding the time… I’m working 9-5 and have been here a couple of months already. I’ll be leaving again in a year or so, so it would be great to meet some cool people sooner rather than later… Or at least have them inform me of things goin’ down / offer a ride to anything that I wouldn’t want to miss, iykwim!!
Haven’t been to a good party in aaaaaages … Went to my first one in a year or so the other month, and it was great to see all the old faces but the party itself wasn’t the most amazing…
Thought that maybe some pv’ers might have worked at Glasto or something, but I guess not…. (unless there’s some glasto thread somewhere I’ve missed)

Brighton’s pretty groovy, and my sis lives there…
But I’m quite happy with being in Cornwall… despite the lack of… anything lol :crazy: Newquay has fairly rubbish clubs, though there is the odd good night to be had…
